Aurora Highlands ER Targets Sept. 29 Patient Opening; Hospital Comes Later

AdventHealth plans to begin seeing patients at its Aurora Highlands emergency room on September 29, 2026, at a new 88,000-square-foot medical campus at 3405 N. Main St. The operator announced a campus-opening celebration on September 21, but its ER listing says the location cannot yet accept patients. For residents looking to use the facility, September 29 is the scheduled start of care.

The type of care matters when choosing where to go. AdventHealth says the freestanding ER will operate around the clock as a department of AdventHealth Parker. It is not an urgent-care center, and visits will be billed at hospital emergency-department rates.

What the first phase provides

AdventHealth describes eight exam rooms, two trauma exam rooms, a helipad, and CT, ultrasound and X-ray imaging at the Aurora Highlands facility. The building also has space for primary and specialty clinics. The September 29 date is confirmed for the ER; the announcement does not establish that every clinic will begin appointments that day.

AdventHealth described the development as an $81 million first-phase investment when it announced the groundbreaking in January 2025. Colorado’s 2026 Hospital Financial Transparency Report separately lists an $81 million approved project for the freestanding ER and medical office building. That approved amount is not a final construction-cost figure.

AdventHealth has also outlined a future 50-to-75-bed hospital for the campus. It is a separate plan, not part of the September ER opening. The near-term change is access to a new hospital-affiliated emergency department in The Aurora Highlands.
